I was just reading this article about the scientific study of women’s desire to have sex as opposed to men’s need to have sex and they studied female rats to further explain. Basically female rats have clits and when you rub these said clits (apparently they look like eraser heads) the female rat looks to enjoy it and when the scientist stop rubbing their clits, the rats “ask” for more.

It goes on explaining that women are more passive when it comes to sexual relations and are turned on by the thought of being persuade or chased, and this theory I guess continues even in the animal world. That females have to seem passive to get sex and men are turned off when females seem forward. But studies show that females get bored when the chase is done (between one year and 4) while men continue to remain interested in sex. The theory stands that females like sex, men need sex to survive and spread their gene. The fact that females LIKE sex just makes the spreading of the gene that much easier.

What I want to know is, after years and years of schooling and thousands and thousands of dollars in colleges and degrees, what scientist ends up his career flicking some female rat’s clit?

While I’m not really comfortable saying ANYTHING is the new “skinny” I do think that encouraging girls to be come strong more than thin is an interesting twist. I also really relate to the idea that teenagers who starve themselves really put them selves in risk of missing out on a lot. School work, social activities, friends and family… mostly due to the fact that (from what I remember) starving yourself in high school just made you that much more miserable and exhausted. I wonder all the time if I had just lived my childhood and didn’t stress about calorie intake as much, would I have achieved more?

Though there is a lot I don’t agree with in this article (mostly the wording) its still worth a read.
